OK, so this may be a myth, but let’s take a new view of bridesmaids dresses and see their purpose. The purpose is to support the bride and her vision of her wedding. The colors, the fabrics, and the style all serve that common purpose. The wedding party is a painting and the bridesmaids are part of the palette. But there are many ways to achieve this.
