When you love to golf, you’ll incorporate golfing into your wedding… somehow or some way. Cambry and Sean hosted their wedding at The Oregon Golf Club, a beautiful venue just outside of Portland.
Cambry and Sean met online but they knew there was serious potential when they both started singing along to 90’s tunes on their first date. We hit it off immediately over our mutual love for our golden retrievers.
The ladies spent the morning getting ready at the Grand Hotel Bridgeport while the guys enjoyed their pre-wedding time at the club. It was an extremely hot day for late May (the high was 100 degrees!) so everyone kept indoors until they needed to head out for photos.
Their sweet golden retriever pups, Ella & Burley, made a quick appearance for wedding photos and for the ceremony before heading back home to cool a/c. We love dogs who serve as ring bearers and flower girls. If you’re considering dogs at your wedding… it’s a definite must! How cute are these family portraits?
As many of our couples do, Cambry and Sean asked a close family member to marry them, in this case they asked Sean’s uncle. Sean’s dad served as his best man (so touching!).
Guests were treated to live ceremony music by Vancouver String Quartet before the ceremony started. The Oregon Golf Club catering staff went above and beyond to accommodate the hot weather and provided guests with ice water and lemonade pre-ceremony.
Ever the comedian and funny guy, Sean had everyone laughing as they walked (Sean skipped) down the aisle as newlyweds. This was quite possibly the best recessional we’ve ever seen by a groom.
Following the reception, we made a quick change to move guests indoors for cocktail hour as it was just too warm for anyone to stay outside. Our wedding vendor team was amazing and managed to adjust to this change quickly and easily without hassle.
Design details included subtle nods to Oregon, their golden retrievers, and the colors navy, gold, and blush/coral. Friends helped bring their vision to life with calligraphy and signage help.
These little Oregon escort cards from an Etsy seller were one of our favorite details. They were so cute and unique – the calligraphy names were the extra special detail that completed the look and brought their design together.
Before you think that you couldn’t possibly carry on a long text string about lanterns, think again. Cambry and I texted and emailed back and forth, over and over, again and again about the perfect wedding lanterns. Seeing photos of all of their lanterns makes me smile as it shows just how much she cares, even about the little details. In case you’re wondering… Target & Hobby Lobby. 😉
At our initial planning meeting, Cambry was set on the fact that they needed to have some sort of late night “club” as a nod to Sean’s college days at OSU where Sean would turn his room into the after party location dubbed “Club Leahy.” We schemed up some visions but thought about how cool it would be to drop the curtain to unveil “Club Leahy” with a bang. They unveiled it alright… with a real bang! – Each bridal party member ignited a gold confetti canon as the beat dropped in their unveiling song. Shawn and Event Team Entertainment brought the club scene vision to life and turned up the heat for the remainder of the night… it was so fun!
The night concluded with Voodoo doughnuts and a beautiful sparkler send off. While their day was oh so hot, it couldn’t have been more perfect. We adore you two (four including Ella and Burley)! Congrats, Cambry & Sean!
